Rusty was a dog that my dad picked up while he was in service. Rusty was part Chow. Rusty also was a beer drunk. Dad would leave Rusty to his own devices and he often made the rounds of the officers clubs where the men bought him beers. So how Rusty managed to make it home in a loaded condition and then had to be let out constantly after his drinking binge. Rusty was sent to live with my grandparents when Dad was slated to go overseas because, although he was allowed to take Rusty, he could not bring him back into this country. My grandfather spent some time detoxing Rusty after he came to live on Pershing Dr. The dog had beer withdrawal.
