Lesson: Ice cream. Ask students what they think might be in ice cream. When they are correct show that item. (Give clues or show item if students are having difficulties.)

Discuss each ingredient and how it affects the ice cream. Read recipe chart and add ingredients. Students will knead while everyone is singing an ice cream song. (Ice cream is Yummy.  Ice cream is cold.  Ice cream tastes best when you are 5 years old.) When finished the bag is passed to the next student. After 3-5 minutes place bag in freezer. Discuss with children what they noticed happened. Compare bags. Students will begin writing in their journal about the ice cream.

Graph favorite ice cream flavor. Students will color ice cream scoop to match their favorite flavor. Cut and paste on chart.

Enjoy the ice cream before students leave.
