Last  year I was able to teach my favorite grade, Kindergarten. I taught at the Fairfield Kindergarten Center (see resume). Being surrounded by fifteen other kindergarten teachers has helped me grow as a professional. In addition to the daily operation of planning and implementing curriculum, I served on the school's technology committee.

I have also taught a self-contained Third Grade class at Curé of Ars Catholic School. I was the only Third Grade teacher in the building, which posed as an extra challenge to a new teacher. From a field trip to the Post Office to developing and implementing lesson plans about peanuts, my class is never dull.

As an intern at Summit Elementary, in the Forest Hills school district, I had a variety of experiences inside and outside the classroom. Not only have I completed a full year of teaching AM Kindergarten, but I also have completed many other aspects of teaching including Parent-Teacher Night, developing and implementing lesson plans, Kindergarten screening, communicating with parents, participating in team and parent meetings, grade-cards and evaluations—a complete experience.

In addition, I have been a substitute teacher at every elementary grade level in the Forest Hills School District. I also had some teaching experience during my fourth year of school as a teaching associate in both Kindergarten and Third Grade at Mercer Elementary. My relationship with schools goes beyond the classroom. I completed two seasons as the Color Guard Advisor for Amelia High School.

The Early Childhood Education Teacher Preparation program at the University of Cincinnati is a five year program that balances academics with classroom experience.

In addition to the Early Childhood Education degree, each student is required to earn a second degree. My bachelor’s in Sociology will complement any teaching assignment.

I am searching for a primary teaching position. I feel that my experiences have prepared me well for teaching in Early Childhood Education. I invite you to explore my website at http://www.itsallyours.com/portfolio/ to learn more about me or UC’s program. If you have any positions available in Kindergarten through Third Grade, I hope you will consider my qualifications.

Sincerely,

Roxanne M. Your
